The MateCanary is employed for keeping track of the air quality, carbon dioxide levels, humidity, and temperature of the surrounding environment. Several different types of gases can be detected to measure the air quality, including:

  1. Carbon monoxide (CO)
  2. Nitrogen dioxide (NO2)
  3. Sulfur dioxide (SO2)
  4. Ozone (O3)
  5. Particulate Matter (PM2.5 and PM10)
  6. Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
  7. Ammonia (NH3)
  8. Lead (Pb)

The device is highly accurate in measuring air quality and CO2 levels with an accuracy rate above 90%.

The basic version of the device cannot be connected to a smartphone or other device for remote monitoring via Bluetooth. The standard version can be connected to a smartphone or other device via Bluetooth. The premium version has the added feature of being able to connect to a smartphone or other device via Bluetooth and WiFi for remote monitoring via the cloud.

The basic and standard versions of the MateCanary device can be auto-calibrated after 24 hours of operation in a clean environment. The premium version of the MateCanary device has the added feature of being able to be both auto-calibrated and manually calibrated as needed.

The device is suitable for use both indoors and outdoors, as long as it is not placed in an environment with high airflow.
The battery life of the basic version of the device is designed for use with continuous power and is expected to last for approximately 2 days. The standard version has a battery life of nearly 1 week. The premium version has a much longer battery life, lasting up to 6 months.
The warranty period for the device is 1 year.
The MateCanary device can be integrated with other smart home devices or systems by connecting it to a smartphone or laptop through the MateCanary App.
The device has been certified with a CE and UKCA certificate, demonstrating its compliance with relevant safety standards

Product use

To set up the device, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure that the device is in a clean environment.
  2. Plug the device into a power source for more than 24 hours for the auto-calibration process to take place.
  3. Once the auto-calibration is complete, the device is ready for use.

To read the readings from the device, follow these steps:

  1. Turn on the device and allow it to stabilize for a few minutes.
  2. Observe the display on the device.
  3. The basic version has a 0.96″ OLED display and the standard and premium versions have an E-INK display.
  4. The display shows the levels of CO2 and air quality index, as well as temperature and pressure in the room.
  5. Review the readings and make note of any changes or patterns that you observe.

Note: The specific readings and measurement units may vary depending on the device model. Please refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

It is recommended to check readings at least every 30 minutes.

To maintain the device and keep it in good working condition, it is recommended to use the device in an environment with a temperature below 50°C and humidity levels between 10% and 90%. This will ensure the device operates within safe and optimal conditions, preventing damage and ensuring accurate readings.

Product Safety

Using the device in hazardous environments can impact the sensitivity of the sensor or damage electronic components, therefore it is not recommended. To ensure safe and accurate readings, it is best to use the device in a controlled environment.

When handling batteries or electrical components, it is highly recommended to use a certified and well-known brand for the charger in order to avoid any damage or catastrophe. This will ensure the safety and proper functioning of the device. Always refer to the manufacturer’s instructions and guidelines for handling and replacing batteries and electrical components.

If you encounter any issues with the device, you can try resetting the device using the reset button. All versions of the device are equipped with a reset button to reset the functionality of the device if it does not function properly. This is often a first step in troubleshooting. If the issue persists, refer to the manufacturer’s instructions or contact customer support for further assistance.

Other

The release date for MateCanary Basic has not been officially announced. However, it is speculated that it may be released in Mars 2023.

We accept returns (for any reason) within 30 days of purchase. If the product is used and shows signs of use, then the returned product must be cleaned prior to returning to qualify for a full refund. The customer bears the return cost. Once the returned product is received  inside its package by MateCanary and return terms are followed, a full refund is applied within 5 days of receipt.
